Durante un viaggio d’affari, visite ai nostri partner o durante le conferenze e fiere all’estero, ci troviamo spesso al ristorante e abbiamo bisogno di un lessico ovvero frasi appropriate per le bevande e le pietanze nonché per ordinare in inglese. Per questo motivo, il capitolo che segue, è uno dei più utili e fondamentali per l’apprendimento dell’inglese.

JIM: It’s customary to leave 10% for lunch, and 15% or so for dinner. You can also add a little more if service was really exceptional.
TOM: Oh, I just remembered. Can we get separate checks? I need a receipt for my lunch to write off expenses.
JIM: Sure, no problem. But don’t you pay more VAT if you claim expenses like that?
TOM: Just a little bit. It’s worth it at the end of the year.
JIM: I’m sure your accountant has that figured out.

TOM: Did you see the bill? They gave us those drinks free-of-charge!
JIM: Really? They were on the house?
TOM: Yeah, can you believe it?
